Muladhara – The Root chakra
Muladhara is the first chakra in the system, this chakra is also called the root chakra.It is located at the base of your spine. This is the chakra that connects us to the physical world. This chakra is our base and gives us the sense of safety and the security with other people and ourselves. From an energetic point of view it is very important to balance this chakra first, since it is the base. If you are not grounded properly you cannot heal or balance the other chakra's.
A balanced root chakra
When this chakra is balanced your not worried about your place in the world, you can guard you boundries effortlessly. You will also feel secure in your world and daily tasks will also seem effortless. If other words you wil be able to work with the world instead of againt it.
An over-active root chakra
An over-activity in this chakra causes annoyance, anger and agression. People who will try to challenge your authority are "problematic people" in your eyes. You might be depending on your career, or the people around you. It also happens that you start to think that your value and self-worth exists in materialism.
An under-active root chakra
A feeling of being disconnected from the world around you, but also from your body is a characteristic from an under-active root chakra. The feeling that your life is a chaos will consequently reflect in your world. Daily interactions will make you afraid, anxious and restless. You will probably also experience feelings of depression and a lack of stamina. Your boundriess will be very little.
Luckily, there are several ways to healing and balancing the Root chakra, a few methods:

The balance of this chakra determines how we see ourselves in the world. How we experience our true desires is because of this chakra. It also governs our self-worth and the relationship that we have with others.
A balanced sacral chakra
You can express yourself and your feelings without any hestation or problems when this chakra is balanced. You know what your strengths and weaknesses are. You love your life and you live it to the fulles as it is a gift from the gods.
An over-active sacral chakra
When you get over-emotional or start to create drama over things that have happened or over people in your life, that can be a sign of an over-activity in the sacral chakra. You're probably emotionally attached to people and you'll get emotional when people cancel plans or don't show up on time. Tensed muscles is another sign that things aren't balanced.
An under-active sacral chakra
When your svadhisthana is under-active you deny yourself the things that make you feel good. You will be over worked. You will probably will lack creativity, feel lazy and have a weak sex-drive. Trying to "fit in" is probably one of the things that consumes a lot of your time. You can’t manifest what you desire because your thoughts and emotions tend to lean towards negativity.

The third chakra in our system is Manipura, located between the navel and solar plexus. This chakra, called Solar Plexus chakra is the core of our personality, ego and our identity. It ilso is the center of willpower and perception of who you are.

When your solar plexus chakra is in balance it allows you to know yourself and live with strength and confidence. You will be able to set boundaries and be assertive without being aggressive. When it is balanced, you know yourself. You will be able to judge yourself, fairly but not too critically.
An over-active Solar Plexus Chakra
Being angry, critical, judgemental and aggressive. The “ I am always right” attitude is one of the biggest characteristics. Just like turning a deaf ear to advice that is been given by others to you. “I don’t need anyone” is also the attitude of one with an over-active Solar Plexus Chakra.
An under-active solar plexus Chakra
As the exact oppositive of having an over-active Solar Plexus, people peop deal with an underactive solar plexus chakra have the tendency to have a lack of self confidence or having severe emotional issues. People with an under active solar plexus need constant approval of others and worries way too much about what others might think.
There are multiple ways to heal the Solar Plexus:
Affirmation: I am confident, strong and powerful. I am able to make my own choices in life and I accept myself as I am a divine being.

Anahata – The heart chakra
We are half-way through our journey after this one. The fourth chakra is called Anahata, better known as heart chakra and is located at the center of the chest. This chakra centers our ability to love ourselves and others. Here in this chakra, compassion, kindness and love live. This chakra is the balance point of the 7 chakra’s with 3 lower and 3 higher chakras.
A balanced heart chakra
When the heart chakra is balanced, you will feel love and compassion for others naturally. It allows people to be just as they are instead of trying to change them to certain expectations.
An over-active Heart chakra
When the heart chakra is over-active you may feel overwhelmed by emotions. There is the tendency to experience extreme grief, sadness, greediness, anger, jealousy without any control over all these feelings. There is also a lack of self-discipline. People with an over-active heart chakra experience difficulty in relationships.
An Under-active Heart Chakra
When this chakra is under active it gives you the causes the feeling of being unloved, inferiour, cold and distant. People with an under-active heart chakra seek out emotional support from relationships.

Affirmation: I am loved, and deeply connected to all living creatures. I love deeply, with guinine passion and trust.

Vishudda – The throat chakra
Vishuddha or Throat chakra is the 5th energy center in the system and governs our speech and expression. It's balance determines your honesty and how well you are able to express yourself when you're amongst others. It is through this chakra that we speak are choices and that we experience that every choice has a consequence. This chakra is located at the base of the throat.
A balanced throat chakra
Expressing yourself in the world will not be a problem. You will also be very helpful, creative and good at offering people advice when they ask. You know that you want in your life and you are not afraid to ask for it. You are not afraid to express your weaknesses. You are truly free because you are able to speak your truth.
An over-active throat chakra
Being over-opionated, critical of others and how they are living their lives. Maybe even yelling for the most unnecessary reasons. These are all signs that the chakra in your throat is over-active. " My way or the high way" is also a very common characteristic
an under-active throat chakra
When under-active, you will be unable to express yourself and will often be misinterpreted or misunderstood by others. You will probably be “wishy-washy” or considered “flaky” or unreliable by the people in your life. Telling the truth and being honest with yourself is something you probably have a difficult time with, and giving mixed messages is likely something that has gotten you into trouble before. You won’t have a voice of your own and until you find balance within the throat chakra, your life will remain the same.

An over-active 3rd eye chakra
When the 3rd eye chakra is over-active it can lead to over-imagination. You can have the tendency to live in your own, fantasy world with losing sense of reality. People with an over-active 3rd eye chakra also experience their dreams and nightmares as intense. One of the most well-known characteristics is over-thinking everything.
An under-active 3rd eye chakra
When this chakra is under-active you have problems with your memory. You can also experience difficulty in visualizing or imagining things. They can be quite insensitive towards others and don’t trust their own intuition, which leads to black-white thinking.

You will have a great intuitive knowledge and will be very wise. You will be aware of your spiritual self and be selflessly devoted to the well-being of others because you see them as a part of you, rather than as separate.
An over-active crown chakra
An over-activity in this chakra can cause a god complex, that you are feeling better than others causing people to run out on you. It can also happen that you start to "float" and you are having a hard time staying grounded. People will find it hard to take you seriously.
an under-active crown chakra
If you have the feeling that your life is meaningless it can be that you're developing under-activity in the crown chakra. An under-active crown chakra also causes a kind of tunnel vision, there is only 1 possible outcome and nothing else. In a physical way you can have trouble keeping balance.

Affirmation to heal the crown chakra: I trust my inner knowing to guide me through life. All people in my life are here to teach me something about myself so that I can grow. I trust that everything happens for a reason and that what I do makes a difference. I am balanced

Close your eyes and try to visualise the colour violet on top of your head balancing out this
